Come Learn: North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary

A Community Information Meeting about the new North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary school will be held this Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the future site of the school- 1600 Saranac Street (North Charleston)—in the cafeteria.

The meeting is open to the public and intended to provide information about this new educational option starting fall 2011.
About the School: North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary (NCCAE)
is currently  accepting applications for Kindergarten and the first grade for
the 2011-2012 academic year.  As a partial magnet school, NCCAE has an attendance zone,
while also offering seats for applicants who live outside of this zone but
reside in District 4 (including the city of North Charleston) and Charleston County.

NCCAE offers high-quality teaching that exceeds the state standards and the district’s
core curriculum, while integrating the arts and creative disciplines across all subject areas.   Classroom teachers will engage students while supplementing traditional subjects with  instruction in the visual arts, music, movement, physical education, and drama.

For More Information: Please contact Cathie Middleton at 763-1555,
the Elementary Learning Community at 849-2878, or the Office of Communications at 937-6303.
